hi kids
life hasn't been terribly exciting but it's been really nice, a highly underestimated word, i believe. i've been getting to read a lot which makes me a happy fish. mr. allen ho was here in ny visiting for the past three days which was really cool. we went to washington square park and central park and some other places and i took him to the museum of natural history and we saw this show called cosmic collisions in the planetarium. it's narrated by robert redford and is all about collisions in the galaxy and how the moon was created and stuff like that.

last night we went to this really big park/ emptied out pool in our neighborhood where they were showing the movie wet hot american summer on a big inflatable screen. there were hundreds of people there all with blankets and icecream sitting on the concrete and it was really fun. the directors were there to introduce it so that was kind of cool too.

TONIGHT, for my roommates birthday, we are going to the NATIONAL AIR GUITAR CHAMPIONSHIPS. I'm kind of beyond excited for this.

in other news, i got promoted to a server at chevy's. i'm really moving up in this world. but actually i'll be making like two or three times as much money so it's a very good thing. i also have an interview for another publishing internship at fsg for the fall semester so if i get it i think i'm going to go part time next semester so i can do both of them. yay books.

in august we have some couch surfers coming from gent, belgium! GUYS. especially those of you abroad, but really everyone-- YOU HAVE TO GO TO couchsurfing.com. It's so awesome!!! It's all about meeting new people and sharing experiences and awesomeness and ah! It's so cool! I know i sound like a huge dork but it kind of changed my life. So please do it. You can have people crash with you or crash with other people or just meet up with people for coffee and cool events. You can meet people from all different countries or even just people in your city.
